MailChecker (1996)

Is sharing your computer with a roommate driving you nuts? This program is the convenient way to manage tons of Email accounts that you do not regularly access.

The MailChecker is a Java application that overcame the limitations of the checker I was using at the time. Its features are:

  • Unlimited number of accounts
  • POP3 protocol
  • Multithreaded checking (each account can be checked simultaneously)
  • Staggered random checking intervals
  • Java 1.0 (actually, my first Java project ever)

This software is provided under the terms and conditions of the GNU General Public License (see included file, license.txt).

This software was coded to the Java 1.0 API. It is a Java application (as opposed to an applet). Invoke your Java virtual machine on the class "Mail.class" to run the program.
